Our primary objective is to ensure the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Act truly lives up to its name. We advocate for policy and legislative decisions that genuinely prioritise children's wellbeing. We believe in evidence-based change that recognises and embeds children's rights, ensures equitable educational opportunities, and empowers parents rather than overriding their vital role. Childhood is a precious time, and our campaign is dedicated to protecting it for every child.
The widespread impact: Every child matters
One of the most crucial points we want people to understand about the issues with the current Act is its universal impact. This legislation affects every single child in the country.
It is disproportionately worse for specific groups or circumstances; its provisions have the potential to shape the educational and social landscape for all children, making it essential that we scrutinise and challenge its harmful aspects.
From our perspective, it appears to be surveillance disguised as care. It erodes children's rights, disempowers parents and burdens educators.It disproportionately impacts families with disabled members and grants more power to entities that have already repeatedly breached existing laws concerning children's education and social care.
